The Olympus Extension Tube is a simple but effective accessory that allows for different levels of macro photography. Extension tubes mount directly onto the camera body, with lenses mounting to the front of the tube, thereby adding extension to the lens' distance from the film plane. This extension increases how closely lenses can focus and their macro capabilities. The greater the extension, the closer a lens will focus. These tubes are usually, but not always, found in a set of three: 7, 14 and 25 adding 7mm, 14mm and 25mm of extension respectively.
